I have my driving test on September 5th, but it feels like every time I go practice with my dad, things get worse and worse. I started out fine–in fact, I enjoyed driving, but everytime I get in the car with my dad, I get so nervous and do something stupid and dangerous, and he always yells at me and I always end up crying. How do I overcome this? What can I do that will ensure I will pass my test and get over my fear??? Any suggestions?

Is there anyone else you can practice driving with?
When I was learnign to drive, my mom’s boyfriend would take me out and start yelling at me for the smallest things, and so each time, I would get worse and worse. Finally, one day, I stopped the car, took the keys and walked away. He was pissed off me for stranding him, but my mom was more pissed off at him for yelling at me.
A change of instructor sounds like it would help, or ask your dad to not yell at you. Tell him it stresses you out when he does it, and it causes you to make more mistakes. Also, his yelling is a distraction, so of course you will be bad.
Good luck.
face your fears. If you can’t pass this trial in life?? u might as well give up. because theres is bigger fears in life then a fuking drivers license.
Tell you dad point black how his yelling affects you. Find another adult to replace your dad on that passenger sit.
it takes awhile to overcome your fear especially if your dad is in the girl and he isn’t being very helpful what he should do is take you driving at the cemetery and there you will l;earn how to drive better and if you go over onto the grass you won’t have to worry about hitting anyone trust me my mom taught me there and i am glad she did
i always made mistakes when i drove with my mom because she would yell if i’d do something wrong instead of telling me what to do the next time…its going to happen if you’re in the car with someone who will get mad or yell
when you’re in the car with a stranger or person who trusts your driving you will feel more comfortable bc they can’t yell at you..the most they can do is fail you..i wouldn’t worry..just do what you learned in the driving class!..
My ex husband is why I never learned to drive a stick. Ya can’t learn when someone’s hollering at ya, can you? I’m sure you are just fine, just unsure of yourself trying to learn with good ole dad. Either find a new instructor or get yourself some duck tape for pops! Good luck, YOU will be just fine!
