What can you take for fear of flying?

My boyfriend has developed a terrible fear of flying, it gets worse everytime we fly. Does anyone know of anything he can take to calm his nerves? We go to cyprus in 3 weeks time.

I’m soooo freaking terrified to fly. I have flown probably 10-15 times but still every time I so much as think about an airplane my heart jumps and I start to panic. I’m going on an overseas trip in a few months and my excitement is totally overshadowed my my fear.

I’m mostly scared of terrorist attacks and stuff like that.. I’m always profiling and if someone I think looks suspicious so much as gets up and goes to the bathroom I start freaking out .

Will my fear ever go away?

I never used to be scared of flying but I am getting more and more anxious about flying not just a 9/11 type incedent but just a plane accident – I am sure Lost didn’t help! I have also started looking up crash statistics which i thought would show how safe flying is – which they do but at the same time show all the gruesome details about crashes.

Anyway does anyone have any tips for feeling a bit stressed when I fly (take offs and landings are the worst bits for me.

I have a seriously traumatic fear of flying, the only thing that works is strong xanex, but it leaves me feelig even worse. I have tried meditation, teas, yoga, relaxation techniques and fear of flying courses, nothing works. I fly overseas in two weekw and the anxiety is already out of control? Any tried and true tricks?

I just dont understand how people can have a fear of flying…i love flying.
actually 1)its safer to fly in a plane then drive a car

2) it is very possible to survive plane crashes MANY people have it depends on how the plane crashes and weather it explodes or not etc…

I have always had an intense anxiety whenever I travel in an airplane.After take-off I am fine.It is just a fear of the unknown mostly.I fly often and am moving away from my hometown soon so flying will be a neccessary part of my life.I’m sick of taking pills to ease my nerves.I want to know of an effective method to rid me of this fear.

I am flying to Germany in a couple of weeks and am scared to death that something terrible could happen. I do not fly that often and have never been on a plane for 8-10 hours. Is this a normal fear and what can I do about it?

I’m TERRIFIED of flying on planes. I’ve been on them before and have never really had any worry. But this year, with all the accidents, I’m scared out of my mind. My family and I are flying to Florida next month, and I’ve been absolutely terrified at the thought of getting into the plane. I’m scared a bird will fly in the engine or we’ll run out of gas or something will make us crash. How do I get over my fear before my trip?
